Respected Planner returns to Agency.com from AKQA
London — January 1, 2007 — Agency.com has appointed James Clifton to the newly created position of European Planning Director, to build and strengthen the agency’s strategic planning capabilities across the European region.
Based in the London office, Clifton will be responsible for the Planning discipline across Agency.com’s European offices, including London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dublin and Milan. He is also tasked with playing a key role in the winning and growing of new client relationships.
Clifton joins from AKQA’s London office where he was Head of Strategy and Planning. He has over 8 years experience in digital and previously joined Agency.com in 2000. Whilst with Agency.com he established Strategic Planning as a discipline and remained with the company for 4.5 years before leaving to start his own wireless internet venture.
Clifton commented on his appointment: “I am really excited about returning to Agency.com. There is a strong leadership team in place now, an amazing client list and there are ambitious plans for the future of the agency. I am looking forward to playing my part in the development of this innovative agency.”
Throughout his career, Clifton has worked with clients including British Airways, Nike, Sky, RAC, Yell, Reuters, Hilton, Coca-Cola and Unilever. He was also ranked as a Top Five Digital Planner in Campaign magazine’s ‘Online’s Finest’ report in 2005.
